Tamarindo Beach is a three and a half kilometer stretch of white sand and warm blue water. Tamarindo is surrounded by National Parks to its north and south, and mountains with breathtaking views to its east.
Nature is everywhere. The world-famous leatherback turtles lay their eggs in the northern part of the bay. Howler monkeys can be heard and seen swinging on branches throughout Tamarindo. In some restaurants, giant Iguanas will come up to your table expecting table scraps. In the late afternoons the trees are full of brightly coloured parakeets.
Tamarindo is located in a dry, tropical forest, and enjoys a less humid climate than other parts of the country. Temperatures range between 72ºF (22ºC) and 92ºF (34ºC) during the entire year, with comfortable breezes year 'round.
There are basically two seasons in Tamarindo: dry and rainy. The rainy season runs from May through November, when the landscape is green and lush. Rain showers occur briefly during the late afternoons, creating spectacular sunsets.
